London, (Shahzad Ali) __ Chaudhry Muhammad Amin Pothi, a prominent community leader based in Luton, has emphasized the urgent need for unity among overseas Pakistanis to promote human rights, democratic values, and the rule of law in Pakistan. He stressed that civilian supremacy and the power of the people must be respected for a brighter future for the country.
He expressed these views while addressing media representatives during a reception held in honor of Raja Musarrat Iqbal, the newly elected President of the Pakistan Press Club UK. The reception was hosted by Chaudhry Muhammad Amin Pothi.
The event was attended by office-bearers and members of the Press Club, along with various community leaders and journalists from across the UK. Notable attendees included respected British businessman Chaudhry Nadeem Pothi, former Deputy Leader of Luton Council and Leader of the Luton Conservative Group Raja Muhammad Aslam Khan, former Mayor of Luton Riaz Butt, former Mayor of Worcester Chaudhry Allah Ditta, Syed Hussain Shaheed Sarwar, Chairman of the Mirpur International Airport Movement UK & Europe Haji Chaudhry Muhammad Qurban, former Press Club President Sheraz Khan, Zufair Baba, Chaudhry Nisar Gulshan, Imran Raja, Arshad Sani, Ehteshamul Haq Qureshi, Atiq ur Rehman Chaudhry, Jameel Minhas, Aqdas Mughal, Sardar Asif Sharif, Sahira Khan, Asad Malik Abdul Rehman, Mirza Khawar Jarral, Chaudhry Nawaz, Chaudhry Asghar Pothi, Jahangir Pothi, Chaudhry Muhammad Sharif, Sahibzada Akram Baho, Amjad Bobi, and others.
The event began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Sahibzada Akram Baho, and Atiq ur Rehman Chaudhry served as the stage secretary.
In his address, President Raja Musarrat Iqbal stated that the Pakistan Press Club UK is the only organization that truly represents Pakistani journalists in the UK. He highlighted the Club’s role in providing coverage and support for community leaders and in raising awareness of issues affecting the Pakistani diaspora in Britain, Europe, and Pakistan.
He also mentioned that the Club continues to work on resolving issues faced by journalists and emphasized that its success relies on the unity and loyalty of its members.
Several speakers at the event praised the role of the Pakistan Press Club and congratulated President Musarrat Iqbal and his newly elected team.
