British Minority Communities Must Engage Actively in Local Politics: Lord Qurban Hussain

Luton, (Special Correspondent) – Member of the UK House of Lords, Lord Qurban Hussain, has said that all minority communities living in Britain should actively participate in local politics۔

He was speaking at a dinner reception hosted by former President of Pakistan Press Club UK, Shiraz Khan, and Central Vice President, Israr Ahmed Raja, at a local restaurant. The event was presided over by Masarat Iqbal, Central President of Pakistan Press Club UK.

Lord Qurban Hussain emphasized the need to establish a think tank focused on addressing racial discrimination, rising Islamophobia, and the challenges faced by immigrant communities. He said such a platform should formulate strategies to tackle these issues in an effective and coordinated manner.

The distinguished guests at the event included Muhammad Shahbaz Khan and Iftikhar Azad, who are associated with the Dubai real estate sector. Other attendees included Mufti Khalid Mahmood, Dr. Yaseen Rehman, Haji Chaudhry Muhammad Qurban, Haji Abdul Qayoom, Abdul Rauf, Muhammad Mahfooz Mughal, Amjad Lone, and Nasrum Ghazi.

Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Shahbaz Khan said that Dubai and the UAE have become global hubs for business due to the rule of law and extensive investment opportunities, particularly in real estate.

Iftikhar Azad highlighted that highly educated youth have significant employment opportunities in the education and IT sectors.

President of Pakistan Press Club UK, Masarat Iqbal, said that the Press Club is a platform that promotes the positive contributions and achievements of the Pakistani community in the UK, while also providing community leaders the opportunity to present their political, social, and business agendas.

Dr Yaseen Rehman,Mufti Khalid Mahmood also spoke at the event. At the end, hosts Shiraz Khan and Israr Ahmed Raja thanked all the guests for their participation.
