Springfield, Virginia,October 6, 2025 (TW News) __ Hamid Malik Sahib, who stands among the most beloved and highly respected community leaders in Washington metropolitan area, admired for his compassion by both Pakistani American and Kashmiri American communities, is home now after spending almost a week at Virginia Hospital, Arlington, Virginia.

He is resting comfortably and feeling much better today than what we have experienced during our visit to him at the Hospital last week, said Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai who was joined by his family and Sardar Zarif Khan, Advisor to the President of Azad Kashmir. Hamid Malik is the President of Pakistan Link and CEO of Executive Ride Limo.

He expressed his regret at being unable to join us in the protest in New York where Indian foreign minister spoke during the UN General Assembly session on September 27, 2025, as his health had been affected by a minor stroke.

I can say with certainty that if there is an event in Washington regarding Kashmir or Pakistan, it is almost impossible to make it a success without the deep engagement and personal involvement of Hamid Malik Sahib. He was always there when a protest was organized in front of the White House, Indian Embassy or the United Nations in New York.

I remember that it was February 5, 2020, his deeply passionate speech about the situation in Kashmir at the DuPont Circle, Washington, DC drew significant attention and was widely reported in the press in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. He said, “It is the 184th day of Indian besiege of the Kashmiris. Our brothers and sisters are trapped in their homes, under curfew, no medicines, no access to outside world, no internet services and no schools. Totally captive in their houses. What more can you imagine when the world is sleeping and not bothered, because it is Muslims that are under trial or tortured.”

Mr. Malik added during his speech that “We are here to express our resolve, our commitment and heartfelt feelings to the Kashmiris and their cause. Let the brothers and sisters in Kashmir know that we are with them with full support and that our hearts bleed equally.”

He pleaded to President Trump who was the 45th president then in these words, “We must raise our voice and let it be known to the Trump Administration and the United Nations that his injustice must end.”
Those who know Hamid Malik will agree with me that he is genuine and honest person. That characterization is a befitting when we talk about him, a symbol of humbleness, modesty and above all a true friend of the people of Kashmir.

Let us pray, “O Allah, heal Hamid Malik who is suffering from illness. Restore him to health and strength, and grant patience to his family and friends. You are the Supreme Healer, the Most Compassionate, and the Most Merciful. Aameen.”
