Athens, (Pervaiz Ahmed Mughal) __ The recent incidents of police brutality against journalists at the Islamabad Press Club have exposed the government’s hypocrisy and double standards. The use of force to silence the voice of truth is unacceptable and a direct attack on press freedom.

Journalists in Pakistan are fulfilling their professional responsibilities with neutrality and dedication. Subjecting them to violent actions is a dangerous attempt to suppress free speech and independent journalism.

Pakistan Journalists Club (Registered) Greece stands in full solidarity with the injured and affected journalists of Islamabad Press Club and strongly condemns this act of police terrorism. We demand the Government of Pakistan to:

1. Immediately suspend all police personnel and officials involved in the attack on journalists.
2. Conduct a transparent and impartial investigation into the incident.
3. Bring all responsible officers and officials, including senior authorities, to justice and award them exemplary punishment.
4. Provide complete medical facilities to the injured journalists and fully compensate them for their losses.

Freedom of the press is the cornerstone of a democratic society. No one should be allowed to silence those who speak and write the truth.
