Embassy of Pakistan in Vienna Hosts Flag Hoisting Ceremony to Mark 78th Independence Day

Vienna, (Muhammad Amir Siddique) — On August 14, marking the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan, the Embassy of Pakistan in Vienna, Austria, hosted a dignified flag-hoisting ceremony under the patronage of His Excellency Muhammad Kamran Akhtar, Ambassador of Pakistan to Austria. The event drew participation from Pakistani community members — including women, children, and elders — who traveled from various cities across Austria to join in celebrating and expressing their deep love for their homeland.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Austria, Muhammad Kamran Akhtar, hoisted the national green crescent flag and read out the messages of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan to the nation on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day. Earlier, the Independence Day celebration ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Manzoor Ahmed.

Head of Chancery Adeel Khan Afridi, who performed the duties of the stage secretary, congratulated the Pakistani community on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day and thanked them for participating in the ceremony.

Addressing the audience at the 78th Independence Day celebration, the Ambassador of Pakistan paid tribute to the glorious struggle of the founders of Pakistan and the visionary and wise leadership of Quaid-e-Azam. He reiterated the nation’s resolve to implement Quaid-e-Azam’s vision in building Pakistan as a democratic, progressive and forward-looking Islamic country.

He also highlighted Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability in South Asia, as well as its success in defeating terrorism through determination and resilience. He urged the Pakistani community to remain united and peacefully confront the negative and provocative propaganda against Pakistan.

Prayers were offered for the security, progress and prosperity of Pakistan. At the end of the ceremony, the Ambassador of Pakistan, along with women, children and adults of the Pakistani community, cut the birthday cake of Pakistan.
