Luton’s Third Health Fest: A Thriving Celebration of Health and Wellbeing

London, (Shehzad Ali) __ The third annual Health Fest in Luton was a resounding success, as it brought together hundreds of community members, local leaders, and health professionals for a day dedicated to promoting health, wellbeing, and community involvement.

Organised by Community Interest Luton in partnership with Luton Borough Council Public Health, the event provided an impressive array of free health services and information. Attendees could access vital resources, including blood pressure and blood sugar checks, medical consultations, and health education workshops.

The festival attracted several dignitaries, including Luton MP Rachel Hopkins and Mayor Amy Nicolas, along with councillors from across the borough, such as Executive Councillors Mohammed Gulam and Basit Mahmood and former Mayor Cllr Mohammad Yaqub Hanif. This notable attendance highlights the event’s significance and the community’s commitment to health.

Cllr Khatija Malik, portfolio holder for public health, commended the organisers’ efforts, describing the festival as “an outstanding and highly impactful programme that brought the community together while emphasizing the importance of health awareness.”

Focusing on pressing public health issues like diabetes, heart disease, and women’s health, professionals provided attendees with practical advice on preemphasising self-care. Interactive sessions and informative stalls helped guests better understand how to manage and enhance their health actively.

Shabir Malik, a noteworthy local figure and Labour Party member, recognised the collaborative spirit that made the event possible. “The success of Health Fest is a testament to the hard work of Luton Borough Council, local organisations, and volunteers,” he remarked. “These initiatives are essential for raising awareness and ensuring that health services are more accessible to everyone.”

Now in its third year, Health Fest continues to expand its reach and impact. Attendees have strongly supported hosting more regular community-led health events, underscoring the importance of ongoing access to information and preventative care. Luton can enhance public health engagement by fostering such initiatives and contributing to a healthier community overall.
