PM Shehbaz Sharif Reaffirms Pakistan-Kuwait Strategic Partnership During Meeting with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister.

BRUSSELS/ISLAMABAD, (Unib Rashid) – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding brotherly relationship with Kuwait, as he received the State of Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, for high-level talks in Islamabad.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with the federal ministers for Defence, Commerce, National Food Security & Research, Communications, Maritime Affairs, and Petroleum, the Adviser to the Prime Minister, and other senior government officials.

Welcoming the visiting dignitary, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.

Recalling the deep-rooted fraternal ties between Pakistan and Kuwait, the Prime Minister said the relationship is built on shared values, mutual trust, and decades of close cooperation. He noted that both nations have consistently stood by each other during challenging times.

Discussing the evolving regional situation, Prime Minister Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the leadership and people of Kuwait. He strongly condemned the attacks targeting Kuwait and other Gulf countries during the ongoing regional conflict, emphasizing that Pakistan continues to play the role of an honest mediator and facilitator in efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability. He also thanked the Kuwaiti leadership for supporting Pakistan’s peace initiatives.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in bilateral relations and reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to further expand cooperation in key sectors, including trade, investment, energy, agriculture, information technology, maritime affairs, and human resource development.

He also praised Kuwait for hosting a vibrant Pakistani community and acknowledged the valuable contributions made by Pakistani expatriates to Kuwait’s economic and social development.

Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the Kuwaiti leadership to the Prime Minister and reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting dialogue and diplomacy to address the current regional crisis. He particularly commended the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Syed Asim Munir in advancing regional peace initiatives. He also thanked Pakistan’s leadership and people for their steadfast solidarity and support for Kuwait during the ongoing difficult circumstances.

Both sides underscored the importance of sustained consultation and close coordination on bilateral and regional matters and agreed to exchange high-level delegations in the near future to further strengthen cooperation.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also renewed his invitation to the Crown Prince of Kuwait to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at a mutually convenient time, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to further elevating the Pakistan-Kuwait partnership.
