Ishaq Dar, Kaja Kallas Agree to Strengthen Pakistan-EU Strategic Partnership.

Brussels, (Unib Rashid): Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, met with the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, on the sidelines of the 33rd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) in Manila.

During the meeting, High Representative/Vice-President Kaja Kallas warmly recalled her recent bilateral visit to Islamabad for the 8th Round of the Pakistan-EU Strategic Dialogue. Both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing cooperation under the Pakistan-EU Strategic Engagement Plan, aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations.

Discussing recent regional developments, the two sides emphasized that sustained diplomacy remains the only viable and durable path to peace and stability, particularly in the context of the evolving situation involving the United States and Iran.

They also exchanged views on regional security, global energy markets, maritime security, and the broader implications for international trade and supply chains. Both leaders stressed the importance of continued dialogue and adherence to international law in addressing regional and global challenges.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the effective implementation of all international conventions underpinning the GSP+ framework. He also highlighted the importance Pakistan attaches to enhancing its economic partnership with the European Union.
