Halifax, (Zahid Anwar Mirza) – Four members of a drug trafficking gang operating in Halifax have been sentenced to prison, while another received a suspended sentence following a successful investigation by West Yorkshire Police’s County Lines Task Force under Operation Phoenix.
According to police, the five offenders, all from the same family and based in the Pellon area of Halifax, were involved in supplying Class A drugs, primarily cocaine, across various parts of Calderdale through a dedicated county lines drug network.
All five defendants were charged with conspiracy to supply Class A controlled drugs. With the exception of Abu Chaudhry, the remaining suspects were remanded in custody during the legal proceedings. All five later pleaded guilty before the court.
At Bradford Crown Court, on Friday, 3 July, the following sentences were handed down:
- Arbaz Ali (27) – 7 years, 1 month and 25 days’ imprisonment
- Samran Ali (28) – 6 years and 9 months’ imprisonment
- Bilawal Ali (26) – 3 years and 3 months’ imprisonment
- Atif Hussain (44) – 3 years and 3 months’ imprisonment
- Abu Chaudhry (26) – 24 months’ imprisonment, suspended for 18 months
West Yorkshire Police said it will continue targeting county lines drug networks through ongoing enforcement operations aimed at disrupting organised crime, reducing drug-related offences, and protecting communities across the region.
