Frankfurt, (Younas Khan) — A ceremony was held in the German city of Frankfurt at the Gurdwara Sikh Center to mark the 40th anniversary of the Khalistan declaration. The event was organized by the gurdwara’s management committee with the support of the Sikh community (Sangat). On the occasion, the Khalistan flag was hoisted, and salutes were presented along with slogans in favor of Khalistan and the display of Sri Sahib.
Prominent members of the Sikh community expressed concern over the issues faced by Sikhs in India, as well as the increasing incidents of targeted killings of Sikh leadership both within India and abroad. Sikh leaders, while highlighting what they described as India’s unlawful actions, stated that no other state is involved in targeted killings to the extent they allege the Indian state is, both domestically and internationally.

They said that earlier these concerns were raised only by the Sikh community, but now countries such as Australia, the UK, Canada, and the United States, along with their security institutions, are also acknowledging these issues. They further claimed that Sikh leadership is no longer safe even in Europe, North America, and Canada, alleging that the Indian government is acting more like a mafia than a state.
Community leaders demanded justice for Sikhs and described the establishment of Khalistan as necessary for freedom from Indian rule. They emphasized that the global Sikh community largely agrees that the creation of Khalistan is the only viable option to ensure the protection of their religious and cultural identity.
The Sikh leadership also urged European media and governments to raise their voices instead of remaining silent over what they termed unlawful and criminal activities by the Indian government. They called for accountability under international law regarding incidents such as targeted killings.
