Pakistan–Austria Bilateral Trade Records Strong Growth for Second Consecutive Year.

Vienna,(Muhammad Amir Siddique) — Bilateral trade between Pakistan and Austria has continued its upward trajectory for the second consecutive year, according to the latest figures released by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO).

Data for 2025 shows that total bilateral trade reached €475.138 million, marking a 16% increase compared to €408.525 million in 2024.

The trade balance remains firmly in Pakistan’s favor, standing at €283.51 million, reflecting the growing competitiveness and demand for Pakistani products in the Austrian market.

Pakistan’s exports to Austria demonstrated strong performance, rising by 20.2% to €379.324 million in 2025, up from €315.467 million in 2024. This significant growth highlights the expanding footprint of Pakistani goods across key sectors.

A broader comparison with 2023 data further underscores this positive trend. Total bilateral trade has surged by 52% over the past two years, while Pakistan’s exports to Austria have increased by 60%. Austrian exports to Pakistan have also shown steady growth, recording a 28% increase, indicating deepening economic ties between the two countries.

The sustained rise in trade volumes is attributed to improved business-to-business linkages, enhanced market access, and continued efforts by both sides to promote trade and investment.

During a recent official visit to Austria, Shehbaz Sharif and Austrian Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker jointly led a business forum, engaging extensively with Austria’s business community. Both leaders emphasized strengthening bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Austria reaffirmed its commitment to further enhancing economic relations and facilitating greater collaboration between Pakistani and Austrian businesses.
