New Delhi, (TW News) __ After spending nearly six years in custody, senior journalist and human rights activist Gautam Navlakha has returned to New Delhi.
Speaking after his release, Navlakha reaffirmed his position on Kashmir, stating, “I stand by what I wrote on Kashmir. My views are based on experience, and I have no regrets.” His remarks underline his continued commitment to his published work and advocacy despite years of incarceration.
Navlakha had been arrested in connection with the Bhima Koregaon case, a case that led to the detention of several activists and intellectuals. Despite the prolonged legal battle and the challenges of custody, he expressed determination to continue his advocacy work.
Friends and supporters welcomed his return, saying that the 73-year-old journalist had come back to Delhi “without bowing before the state.” His release has once again drawn attention to debates surrounding civil liberties, freedom of expression, and the rights of activists in India.
