Halifax, (Zahid Anwar Mirza) __ The Qul (condolence reference) ceremony of the late President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and renowned Kashmiri leader, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, was held at Jamia Masjid Madni, the central mosque of Halifax, United Kingdom. A large number of Pakistani and Kashmiri community members from across the UK attended the gathering.

The ceremony was attended by religious scholars, political and social figures, and representatives of various organizations, who paid rich tributes to the late leader and highlighted his lifelong services to the Kashmir cause. Speakers stated that the manner in which Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry effectively and convincingly highlighted the Kashmir issue at international forums has no parallel in history.

Addressing the gathering, Chairman Pak Kashmir Society, Al-Haj Rab Nawaz Akhtar, said that Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry powerfully raised the voice of the oppressed Muslims of occupied Kashmir at global platforms and rendered invaluable services for the Kashmir cause. He added that such visionary leaders are born once in centuries.

Other speakers, including Chaudhry Ikram Irshad, Haji Muhammad Amin, and others, also paid glowing tributes, acknowledging the late leader’s political, social, and national services in remarkable words.

The condolence reference was attended in large numbers by relatives, friends, and admirers of Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry from all over the UK. At the conclusion of the ceremony, religious scholars offered special prayers for the elevation of the departed soul, as well as collective prayers for the freedom of Kashmir, Palestine, and the unity and well-being of the Muslim Ummah.
