Karachi, (special correspondent) __ Chairman PABOCCI Unib Rashid met yesterday with Kazim Saeed, CEO of Pakistan Agricultural Coalitions (PAC), at the organization’s Karachi office to discuss opportunities for international collaboration in the agricultural sector.
During the meeting, Rashid proposed that PAC expand its outreach beyond Pakistan and establish global partnerships. He suggested that PAC’s first step should be setting up a sub-office in Brussels—the capital of the European Union—in collaboration with the Pakistan-Benelux Overseas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PABOCCI). According to Rashid, such an office would enable Pakistan to benefit from the EU’s extensive experience in agricultural value addition and problem-solving.
Rashid further highlighted his long-standing vision of introducing the globally renowned Belgian Blue cattle breed to Pakistan. He emphasized that PABOCCI is keen to facilitate the arrival of this high-yield breed and support knowledge exchange with Belgian experts. He noted that such initiatives would contribute significantly to the development of both Pakistan and Belgium.
The two sides also discussed Pakistan’s potential inclusion in the World Union of Wholesale Markets and reviewed the current condition of local markets. They agreed that joining the global platform could help Pakistan better understand and address challenges faced by farmers from farm to market.
It was mutually decided that the ideas discussed would be developed into a concrete strategy, with enhanced coordination between both organizations.
