Muslim community of Thurrock is celebrating Eid-Al-Adha, feast of the sacrifice, with special prayers in Grays and Tilbury.
The prayers for the second most important festival of Islamic calendar were attended by men, women and children as well as local businessmen, religious and social personalities and Conservative Councillor and cabinet member for communities, Qaisar Abbas.
Eid starts with Muslims going for prayers at the mosque, neatly dressed and thanking God for all the blessings they have received.
On this occasion, Cllr Abbas said, “I wish Muslim community of Thurrock and across the UK a very happy Eid. I hope you will celebrate the Eid by sharing the joy with your family, friends and neighbours.
On this day, we remember the victims of Ukraine and other conflicts around the world and pray for peace, harmony and prosperity.”
