Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmed has been appointed Pakistan’s 34th Foreign Secretary. He will succeed Amna Baloch, who is set to retire on September 17, 2026, before taking up a new assignment as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Türkiye.
