RESUMPTION OF PIA FLIGHT OPERATIONS TO THE UNITED KINGDOM

LONDON, (Shahzad Ali) __ The Pakistan High Commission in London recently hosted a celebratory ceremony to mark the resumption of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight operations to the United Kingdom.

The event drew participation from senior officials of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), PIA UK’s Station Manager and staff, as well as notable British-Pakistani business leaders, celebrities, and a diverse group of members from the Pakistani diaspora in the UK.

The High Commissioner of Pakistan to the UK, Dr Mohammad Faisal, emphasised that this development is a significant milestone with the potential to yield considerable economic benefits. He noted that it will generate substantial revenue, bolster trade and tourism, and enhance the movement of people and goods. “Each flight will not just transport passengers, but also facilitate new opportunities, linking lives, ideas, and futures across continents,” he remarked.

Dr Faisal expressed his deep appreciation for the collaborative efforts of the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan, whose leadership and vision played a crucial role in restoring PIA’s credibility and enabling its return to British airspace.

He also acknowledged the hard work and dedication of teams at the Civil Aviation Authority, the Ministry of Aviation, and PIA’s leadership and staff for their professionalism and persistence. The High Commissioner also highlighted the valuable cooperation and technical support provided by the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority and the UK government.

PIA’s Station Manager, Ms Nadia, shared that the airline will commence two direct flights weekly between Islamabad and Manchester, starting from 25th October 2025.
