Pakistani candidate Nadeem Khan has won a stunning and significant victory in the elections for the Austrian Vienna Chamber of Commerce.

Vienna Austria, 14 March,2025 __ Pakistani candidate Nadeem Khan has won a stunning victory in the elections for the Austrian Vienna Chamber of Commerce. Pakistani candidate Nadeem Khan was a candidate from The Green Economy Party. He has the distinction of being the first Pakistani to be elected to a major position in Austrian politics.

Pakistani political, business, social, religious, Journalists and entrepreneurial communities from across Austria have congratulated Pakistani candidate Nadeem Khan on his resounding victory in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce elections.

On this occasion, Nadeem Khan said that today’s sun rose with the victory of Pakistanis. Today’s victory is the victory of all Pakistanis living in Austria. I will not break the trust of those who voted for me by trusting me in the election. I would like to thank all those who voted for me and made me successful. I would like to thank the Ambassador of Pakistan His Excellency Muhammad Kamran Akhtar and the owners of all transport companies. That they trusted me. It is a matter of pride for us that a Pakistani has come to this position for the first time.

The Economic Federation also won the Vienna Chamber of Commerce election. The ÖVP-affiliated organization received almost half of the votes (50.2 percent). It was followed by the Social Democratic Business Association (SWV) and the Green Economy (GW).

The Economic Federation lost slightly compared to the election five years ago, from 54 percent to 50.2 percent. In terms of seats distributed among professional organizations, the Economic Federation received 695 seats. It was followed by the SWV, which also lost slightly, falling from 20 percent to 16.5 percent, thus achieving 274 seats in the professional organizations..

The Green Economy came in just behind the SWV in terms of percentage, with 15.7 percent (2020: 14.6 percent). However, they only achieved 142 seats, significantly fewer than the SWV. UNOS (Entrepreneurial Austria) received nine percent of the vote (2020: 5.7 percent) across the chamber, thus achieving 72 seats. The Freedom Party (FW) received more seats but fewer votes: with 7.2 percent (2020: 3.7 percent), it received 92 seats. The rest of the list received 1.4 percent, or 12 seats.
