Islamabad, (TW News) __ International Labour Organisation (ILO) office, Islamabad – 11 December 2025 – Speaking at the inaugural event of the National Roadmap for SME & Worker Formalisation, Mashood Khan, Director SMEDA, outlined the three fundamental obstacles that must be tackled to accelerate enterprise growth in Pakistan.
- Digitalisation of Company Registration – Streamlining the registration process across all government institutions to reduce paperwork and speed up business routine work.
- Easy Access to Finance – Creating financing mechanisms that are readily available and affordable for small and medium enterprises.
- Domestic & International Market Certification – Helping SMEs meet customer-required standards to enter both local and overseas markets.
In addition, Mashood Khan stressed the need for stronger coordination among business federations, chambers of commerce, associations, and all government ministries. “Success depends on how quickly we can implement these measures,” he said.
The event, hosted at the ILO office, brought together policymakers, industry representatives, and development partners to chart a clear path toward formalising the workforce and empowering SMEs across the country.
