NUST Emerges as Pakistan’s Top Performer in QS Subject Rankings 2026.

Brussels/Islamabad, (Unib Rashid) – The National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) has reinforced its status as Pakistan’s leading university in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, achieving significant progress across multiple disciplines.

A major highlight of this year’s rankings is NUST’s impressive performance in Computer Science, where it climbed 50 positions globally—from 164th in 2025 to 114th in 2026—reflecting notable advancements in research output and academic reputation.

The university also retained its top position in Pakistan in the broad field of Engineering & Technology, continuing its dominance in one of the country’s most competitive academic sectors.

NUST demonstrated strong global standing across several disciplines, ranking among the top 150–200 universities worldwide in key Engineering and Computing fields. It also maintained consistent placements within the top 300–350 range in diverse subject areas, including Natural Sciences.

In Social Sciences & Management, the university improved its global ranking from 361 to 335, indicating steady growth in academic influence and research impact.

In a significant milestone, NUST achieved its first-ever inclusion in the Data Science & Artificial Intelligence subject category, marking its expanding footprint in emerging and high-demand fields.

Overall, NUST is now ranked in 21 subjects globally—the highest number achieved by any university in Pakistan—highlighting its multidisciplinary growth and continued commitment to academic excellence and global competitiveness.
