The rally was led by Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Chairman Kashmir Institute of Public International Relations/ senior Hurriyat leader Altaf Hussain Wani, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, Director of the Kashmir Liberation Cell, Dr. Rajja khan and others.

A memorandum was submitted to the United Nations, demanding the implementation of its resolutions on Kashmir. Addressing the rally, the speakers said that India will never succeed in keeping Kashmiris enslaved through force. The United Nations must implement its resolutions to grant Kashmiris their right to self-determination.

The people of Kashmir had decided their future on 19 July 1947, and to fulfill this mission, the Kashmiri nation continues to offer sacrifices. Pakistan and its people have always supported Kashmiris politically, diplomatically, and morally. Pakistan is the advocate of Kashmiris’ freedom struggle, and the ultimate destination of Kashmiris is Pakistan. India has used every tactic to subjugate Kashmiris but has failed and will continue to fail. Pakistan’s historic victory in the battle of truth has ignited new hopes for Kashmiris. India’s occupying force of one million troops is involved in severe human rights violations in occupied Kashmir. The world must take serious notice of India’s brutal and barbaric policies. The United Nations must ensure the implementation of its resolutions on Kashmir.

Addressing the Black Day ceremony organized by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell in Muzaffarabad, the speakers said that India has turned occupied Kashmir into the world’s largest prison. One million Indian troops have been given a free hand to kill and plunder, but despite all atrocities, India has failed and will continue to fail to suppress the spirit of freedom among Kashmiris.

India has used every strategy to maintain its illegal hold on Kashmir but has not succeeded. Kashmiris have proven through their sacrifices that they accept martyrdom but will never accept Indian occupation. India has silenced the voice of Kashmiris by imprisoning the entire Hurriyat leadership and thousands of others, but it has failed to silence their voice. India is aware of the Kashmiris’ decision, which is why it is running away from implementing UN resolutions. Kashmiris prove every day that their destination is Pakistan. Those martyred in occupied Kashmir are wrapped in the Pakistani flag before burial. India must be told clearly that it cannot deprive Kashmiris of their recognized rights.

The struggle for freedom will continue until occupied Jammu and Kashmir is liberated from Indian control. The non-implementation of UN resolutions on the right to self-determination for over seven decades is a failure of the United Nations. The Kashmiri nation is struggling for the right to self-determination in accordance with UN resolutions. India is illegally occupying Kashmir in violation of UN resolutions, and until Kashmiris are given their right to self-determination, they will continue their struggle for freedom under international law.
