Councillor Qaisar Abbas organised the Community Vaccination Bus in Grays to increase vaccination intake within ethnic minority communities.
The vaccination bus facility administered COVID-19 vaccination doses to dozens of children and adults on Sunday, 24 July 2022 at TF Education Centre in Grays including basic health checkups.
Director of TF Education Centre, Mr Abdul Kaiyum Mizan said, “Over 160 children and 300 adults use our centre every week and this facility has really helped our users. I am grateful for Cllr Abbas for always helping and supporting good initiatives.”
Cabinet Member for Communities, Cllr Qaisar Abbas on this occasion said, “By organising this facility in Grays we aimed to increase vaccination intake within BAME communities and it is certainly working for us in Thurrock. I am very pleased that dozens of children and adults used this facility. I urge everyone to get the vaccination and protect themselves and everyone around them.”
Prominent leaders of different faiths and communities also visited the bus and encouraged their followers to take up the Covid-19 vaccination.
Cllr Abbas previously arranged a vaccination bus outside Grays Mosque on 25 March where dozens of people benefited by having their vaccines too.
