Pakistani Ambassador Amir Aftab Qureshi meets Heraklion Mayor Alexis Kalokairinos

Heraklion, Greece (Pervaiz Ahmed Mughal) – Pakistan’s Ambassador to Greece, Mr. Amir Aftab Qureshi, called on the Mayor of Heraklion, Mr. Alexis Kalokairinos, to discuss matters concerning the Pakistani community living in the city. The Ambassador highlighted the constructive role of the Pakistani diaspora, their contribution to the local economy, and emphasized the importance of close coordination with local authorities to resolve community-related issues.

Later, Ambassador Qureshi visited the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he held a meeting with the Chamber’s leadership. The discussion focused on exploring avenues to enhance bilateral trade and investment. Potential areas of cooperation, including Pakistan’s agricultural products, textiles, information technology, and human resources, were also highlighted as promising sectors for collaboration.

Ambassador Qureshi underscored that Pakistan seeks to build long-term partnerships with the Greek business community to foster economic growth and strengthen people-to-people linkages.

These engagements were undertaken in line with the vision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad, under its Public Diplomacy Pakistan initiative, aimed at addressing diaspora concerns and expanding bilateral relations with Greece.
