Brussels, (Unib Rashid) – Pakistan has officially become a member of the World Union of Wholesale Markets (WUWM). According to WUWM’s announcement, the approval of 13 new members has expanded the organization’s global network to 200 markets and institutions — marking a historic milestone in its journey.
Among the newly represented countries are Sweden, Cameroon, Uzbekistan, and Pakistan, further broadening WUWM’s international outreach and strengthening its commitment to fostering a truly global community of wholesale markets.
Parallel to its annual conference, the WUWM Board held a strategic meeting during which the new members were approved. The 2025 conference, held in Johannesburg from May 14–16, brought together more than 450 participants from over 22 countries.
This landmark event marked the first time in two decades that the organization returned to the African continent, placing Africa at the center of the global conversation on transforming food systems.
