ISLAMABAD/BRUSSELS, (Unib Rashid) – A formal welcome ceremony was held at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad in honor of Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, underscoring the commitment of Pakistan and Iran to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif warmly received the visiting Iranian president upon his arrival at the Prime Minister’s House. A smartly turned-out contingent of the armed forces presented a guard of honor to the distinguished guest, who also inspected the parade. National anthems of both Pakistan and Iran were played on the occasion.

Following the ceremonial welcome, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif introduced members of the federal cabinet to the Iranian president, while President Pezeshkian introduced members of his accompanying delegation to the Pakistani leadership.
As part of the symbolic gesture of goodwill, President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif jointly planted a sapling in the lawn of the Prime Minister’s House. The leaders also offered prayers for the progress and prosperity of their respective nations and for the continued strengthening of Pakistan-Iran relations.
The ceremony was described as a reflection of the longstanding friendship, mutual trust, and growing cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
