Brussels, (Unib Rashid) — Pakistan’s Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg, Rahim Qureshi, paid glowing tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces, stating that when India launched a surprise attack under the cover of darkness on May 7, 2025, the sons of the nation responded not merely with words but with decisive action on the ground.
He said that under Operation Bunyan al-Marsoos, Pakistan’s armed forces carried out a well-organized, decisive, and defensive operation that not only delivered a strong response to the enemy but also highlighted Pakistan’s military capabilities on the global stage.
The ambassador described the moment as one in which Pakistan achieved success at every level — governmental, military, diplomatic, and narrative — by the grace of Almighty Allah. He added that the unprecedented success of the operation elevated Pakistan to a dignified and distinct position internationally, where its role in resolving global conflicts is being widely appreciated. He further claimed that Pakistan’s credibility enabled it to bring two rival powers, the United States and Iran, to the negotiation table.

Ambassador Qureshi emphasized that while the armed forces demonstrated exceptional professionalism in crushing the enemy’s arrogance, Pakistan’s media also played a vital role by exposing what he termed as India’s false propaganda across all platforms.
“We defeated the enemy simultaneously on military, political, journalistic, and diplomatic fronts,” he said, calling it a remarkable example of national unity.
The ceremony began with the national anthem and recitation from the Holy Quran. A documentary on the operation and a national song produced by ISPR were also presented. The event concluded with prayers for the martyrs.
A large number of political and social figures from the Pakistani community in Brussels attended the event. The proceedings were hosted by Second Secretary Hadiqa Qureshi.
On the occasion, Farid Khan and Raja Khalid, leaders of the Istihkam-e-Pakistan Group Europe, were awarded honorary certificates for their services in improving Pakistan’s image in Belgium following the operation.
Notable attendees included PML-N Belgium President Haji Pervez, Chairman Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed, City Councillor Muhammad Nasir, social leader Sardar Siddiq, President of the Belgian Cricket Council Umair Butt, Munir Ahmed, Amin-ul-Haq, Kenneth Roy, political activist Shazia Aslam, Green Party central committee member Amjad Shah, Hassan Tauqeer, Amjad Hussain, and Haq Nawaz.
