In his message marking March 23, the Prime Minister described the day as a defining moment in the history of South Asia, recalling how the Muslim leadership of the subcontinent united in 1940 to lay the foundation for a separate homeland. He noted that inspired by the vision of Allama Iqbal, the idea of an independent state was realized under the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah within just seven years.

Prime Minister Sharif paid tribute to the sacrifices of the nation’s forefathers, stating that Pakistan stands today as a testament to their determination, perseverance, and vision. He highlighted that since independence, the country has demonstrated resilience through multiple challenges, evolving from a nascent state into a nuclear power.
Focusing on the present, the Prime Minister underscored the government’s efforts to steer the economy towards sustainable growth. He pointed to declining inflation, rising investor confidence, and improving economic indicators as signs of positive momentum, attributing this progress to bold reforms, prudent policies, and public trust.
He also commended the professionalism and dedication of Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty.
