British-Pakistani Brothers Complete Bicycle Pilgrimage from Makkah to Madinah.

Leeds, (Zahid Anwar Mirza) — Three British-Pakistani brothers have completed a long-distance bicycle journey from Makkah to Madinah, undertaking a demanding pilgrimage that tested their physical endurance and personal resolve.

The brothers, sons of former Halifax Mayor Arshad Mahmood, travelled hundreds of kilometres across Saudi Arabia under challenging weather conditions, including extreme heat and long daily distances. They said the journey was motivated by faith and a personal desire to experience the historic route between Islam’s two holiest cities.

Throughout the journey, the cyclists received support and encouragement from local residents along the route. Upon reaching Madinah, the brothers visited the Prophet’s Mosque, where they offered prayers for the Muslim community worldwide, with particular focus on Muslims living in Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

Speaking after the completion of the journey, the brothers described the experience as a significant spiritual milestone rather than a sporting challenge. They said the pilgrimage strengthened their sense of discipline, patience, and purpose.

The journey has drawn attention on social media, where users praised the brothers for their commitment and highlighted the effort as an example of youth-led faith-based initiative. Observers say the feat reflects a growing interest among younger Muslims in combining physical endurance activities with spiritual goals.
