Vienna : The opening ceremony of the T20/ Cricket 2024 by the Austrian Cricket Association was held on May 1 at 12:30 PM at the Seabarn Cricket Ground. In which the Ambassador of Pakistan Aftab Ahmad Khokhar and Ambassadors of various countries including Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and the consul of the Embassy of India were included. A large number of Pakistani community and international community participated on this occasion.
Players of cricket teams from different countries were also present here. Pakistan Ambassador Aftab Ahmad Khokhar and other Ambassadors encouraged the players and personally visited the ground and met them all.
In his special statement, Ambassador of Pakistan Aftab Ahmed said that Pakistan will continue to play its positive role in promoting cricket in Austria to strengthen the existing friendly relations between the people of the two countries.
In order to restore the full dignity of cricket in Austria, the Austria government, sports organizations and journalists’ organizations also have to play their part. Our country Pakistan is a peaceful country regarding sports. Players are the Ambassadors of peace and the capital of the Nation.
He said that there is immense talent among Pakistanis in cricket sports in Asia. Ambassadors of different countries said on this occasion that we are with the Austrian Cricket Association and the doors of our embassies are always open for the players. In the opening ceremony, the official cake was cut and the national anthem of Austria was played. In this regard, the Ambassadors of various embassies were formally informed about the national team of Austria, in which it was said that the national cricket team of Austria is a men’s team that represents the Republic of Austria in international cricket.
The team is organized by the Austrian Cricket Association, which became an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1992 and an associate member in 2017. International debut. Since then it has regularly participated in European Cricket Council tournaments, usually in the lower divisions and often in bilateral series against other European countries.
