In Vienna, the special rules regarding corona virus measures are history today. The regulation, which was in force until the end of February, was not extended.
This means that masks are no longer compulsory on public transport and in pharmacies. The PCR test requirement for visitors to hospitals and nursing homes is also no longer applicable, and the visitor limit of three people per day is lifted.
Users of public transport in Vienna will also notice another change: Parallel to the end of the mask requirement, Wiener Linien will open the front doors in buses and older trams in which the driver’s cab is not closed.
The doors were locked at the beginning of the pandemic to protect drivers from infection.
