The initiative is designed to facilitate the Pakistani diaspora by enabling them to obtain power of attorney without having to visit the embassy. He explained that the initiative involves a six-step process, including creating a verified account, uploading a request, biometrics, fee payment, video interview, and approval, making the process more convenient and accessible.
In addition to the Digital Power of Attorney initiative, Ambassador Khokher also highlighted the advantages of the Roshan Digital Account (RDA) initiative of State Bank of Pakistan and encouraged community members to use this platform due to its associated benefits. He also provided details of new degree programs introduced by Allama Iqbal Open University for International students around the globe through online mode of study.
The community members present thanked the Ambassador for his briefing and raised questions regarding the RDA and NADRA services. They noted that the RDA facility is only extended to Pakistani nationality holders and requested that facilitation for Pakistani-origin expats may also be provided. With regard to NADRA, they highlighted the difficulty in uploading pictures, documents, and biometrics in specific resolutions.
The Ambassador assured the community members that he would take up RDA matters with the concerned authorities and provide feedback to them.
